About me

About me

My name is Deborah Byrd and I am a qualified dyslexia assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) through Patoss. I also hold a Level 7 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia).

I have been a teacher for over 22 years and a Senco for 9 of those years, which has given me an insight into the different barriers to learning that many children and young people face; difficulties that persist into adulthood.

I know what it is like to be worried about your child's struggles with reading and spelling. I first became interested in dyslexia when my youngest child just wasn't progressing; I knew that something just didn't add up. It turned out that my instincts were correct and when she was assessed she turned out to be severely dyslexic but was doing an excellent job at masking it at school.

I offer a range of services designed to support you or your child. From early screenings and advice, to full diagnostic assessments; get in touch with me to discuss your or your child's needs. For your peace of mind, I am DBS checked.
