My name is Deborah Byrd, and I am a qualified dyslexia assessor holding a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) through Patoss, and a Level 7 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia). Before becoming a full-time assessor, I was a teacher for over 22 years and served as a Senco for 9 of those years.

This experience gave me valuable insights into the various barriers to learning that many children and young people face. As a parent of a child with dyslexia, I understand what it is like to be worried about their struggles with reading and spelling.

I provide services ranging from early screening and advice to full diagnostic assessments. I will work with you and your child in a cooperative environment to understand their strengths and challenges so that the right support can be put in place to help them thrive.
